OUR SHARED VISION

We are joined in our shared vision, values and long-term goals.

WHAT

Our vision is to establish a self-sustaining food forest
that fosters a healthy community, healthy people and
a healthy environment.

WHERE
We have submitted an application to bring our food forest to life on the grasslands of Tempelhofer Feld,
Berlin.

WHO
Everyone from our diverse local community who wants to get involved.

HOW
Using Permaculture Design principles and methods.

WHY
All humans share the threat of climate change.

HEALTHY COMMUNITY

We will work toward a future that ultimately nurtures, protects, and supports a healthy community. We aim to develop a high quality of life for emotional, physical, nutritional, and social well-being.

HEALTHY PEOPLE

FFF will encourage active and healthy lifestyles, help improve mental and physical health and serve as a place for the people of Berlin to socialise.

HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT

We will nourish the community while enhancing biodiversity and increasing soil quality. We will become part of a strategy to mitigate climate change: restoration of high plant density and diversity will increase our ability to capture carbon, filter the air, remove harmful pollutants, and cool the city naturally.

We live in an extraordinary time. We borrow resources from future generations, consuming more than we cycle back into the system. Thus, the system we live in is no longer in balance with nature.

At FFF we believe that we need to reconnect to the cycles of nature. As individuals, we must become co-creators of change. As communities, we must empower and teach each other, learn from another, and develop a culture of collaboration.

SUSTAINABLE
FOOD FOREST

Our forest will transform contaminated soil into productive land, boasting a diverse range of edible, endemic plants all-year-round.

COMMUNITY
SOLIDARITY

We will empower and engage our community. Our project is inclusive of all ages, backgrounds, and circumstances.

EDUCATIONAL
HUB

The process of establishing the FFF will be experimental, problem-solving, solution-finding, and involve learning by participation.

EXPERIMENTAL
SPACE

We will become a bottom-up urban lab, where an empowered community can experiment with nature in the urban contexts and co-create resilient solutions for its restitution.

MODEL PROJECT

We will co-create ideas, tools and knowledge for a sustainable urban life, which will be documented and shared as open-source, to be replicated and applied to other communities everywhere.

STAGE 01

SETTING UP THE FRAMEWORK

As a self-organizing group, we co-create values and principles to collaborate effectively and efficiently to allow for a fluctuating and increasing group size.

STAGE 02

OUTREACH

We aim to grow and build a community with a shared vision and shared principles. The larger and more diverse the group, the better.

STAGE 03

INITIATION

We will initiate research and development activities to attain knowledge by gathering and sharing relevant information with members from our community, experts, and partners.

STAGE 04

ENGAGEMENT & EMPOWERMENT

In this stage, we have everything we need to start planting. We engage and empower our growing community. We continue to develop our collective knowledge in depth and width.

FOUR STAGES OF ACTION

Every objective we have falls under one of the following stages of action:
